What a GREAT STORIE!5
From the first page you are sucked into this adventure! When Maddie bursts into John Danhill's room and announces that he better not tell the two men chasing her that she is there. She then goes on to tell him that she got in his room because she told the clerk that she was his wife. From that point on you can't put the book down. It is a book with wonderful characters and good dialog between the characters. Maddie is quite a spitfire and he admires that about her. I also enjoyed the friendship between John and Boone. I would have given this more than 5 stars. It is a keeper on my shelf. I highly recommend it!! You won't be disappointed.

Light, quick harlequin but wonderful just the same5
No one does dialogue better than carol finch. This book is no exception. Our alpha male (Jonah) meets Maddie when she barges into his room while he's (more or less) in a tub........She is running from bad guys and wants this texas ranger to help her. Right from the beginning they spar verbally. And Maddie is one heck of a woman. Definitely no shrinking violet in any way. If you're looking for a pulitzer plot, this isn't it. It's pretty much your typical bad guy-good guy western, but I've put it on my keeper shelf to re read just because the characters were so great and the dialogue so sharp and entertaining. This is a 'makes me smile' book......with characters with depth. I really liked it......

exciting Texas romance5
In 1880 Coyote Springs, Texas, Ranger Jonah Danhill soaks his aching shoulder still recovering from a bullet wound when a woman runs into his hotel room and hides underneath his bed. A moment later, two men enter the room asking for the woman, whom they insist stole money from them, but Jonah throws them out. Heiress Maddie Garret tells Jonah he did not steal any money and needs his help to ransom her abducted fifteen-year-old younger sister Christina. Reluctantly, Jonah agrees to escort Christina pretending to be a married couple.

As the duo travel on the quest together, they fall in love. However, Maddie knows her prime objective remains her sister while Jonah feels he is beneath her and besides she feels owing him does meant loving him. Whether they succeed or not, it seems that, the relationship between the Ranger and his TEXAS BRIDE will not survive the mission.

This is an exciting Texas romance starring two fine protagonists. Readers will believe the dynamic duo deserves happiness together, but doubt the couple will achieve this especially with her sister in jeopardy. The story line is action packed from the moment Jonah's bath is disturbed until the final confrontation between the hero and the bad guys. Sub-genre fans will appreciate Carol Finch's fine tale.
