Product Description

OH NO, it's the class trip from the Black Lagoon. The kids have no idea where they are going and imagine a doomed class trip full of ferocioius animals, maniacal monsters, and scary aerial acrobatics. It's any kid's nightmare---danger and homework everywhere. And there's your teacher, mean Mrs. Green---she's going to quiz you on everything! Don't worry because the kids stop letting their imaginations run wild and soon realize that they are going to a very cool zoo. There's never a dull moment in the Black Lagoon!

Customer Reviews

Tougher for comprehension than they look...3
We've struggled a bit with comprehension, and I'm always looking for books at the right reading level for my competent, but reluctant, almost-8 y/o reader. The words and concepts in these are fine for a 6/7/8 year old, but some of the phrasing and the jokes seem to be difficult for an early-chapter-book-reader to grasp without some discussion to go along (we ask questions on about every other page to make sure he "gets" it). There are lots of plays on words, which are funny, but sometimes require more explanation than just context. I was hoping for something he could read independently, and once he gets used to the humor, maybe he can. Cute stories though, topics generally suitable and interesting for this age-group, I would say more boy-oriented than girl, though my daughter will listen to them too (6 y/o).

Very cute4
My 6 year likes these books, but not before bed time! I find it a good challenging book for kids. And the speech bubbles add to the funniness of the book.
