With these 150 easy and fun-filled games, parents can prepare their preschoolers for future math success. Kids won’t even realize they’re learning as they search for sequences and patterns; weigh and measure items; play guessing games; and enjoy singing “musical numbers.” And why should they, when they can master the fundamentals of counting during a delightful teatime picnic? Just lay out a tea set, pick 2 favorite stuffed toys or dolls, and have the child serve 1 cup, 2 sandwiches, and so on. Or throw dice to explain number patterns, draw pictures and match up shapes, and introduce fractions with segments of fruit. From an exciting game of mini-bingo to an artistic number frieze, every activity builds brainpower in the most delightful way.

Excellent Alternatives To TV
The games in this book offer parents excellent alternatives to TV. For the child, it really depends on whether they are interested in any particular game. Some of them may work for your child, some of them won't. Many of these games are also quite familiar to parents or the kids may already be playing them in nursery school or kindergarten. I'm sure everyone has already played the coin rubbing or tracing game with his kid.
The book may not score points for originality, but as a guide for parents who may not be able to think up so many games offhand, it is still a valuable reference book. I especially like the which floats and which sinks game.
