Perfect for anyone, but especially procrastinators
I got the 2008 calendar as a joke, but found it to be super useful. The to do list makes you think about what needs to get done and what can be put off. There is a great sense of accomplishment when you can darken the smiley face (meaning you completed the task) and motivation to complete unfinished tasks when you darken the frown face. It is hard not to love the short topic/reminder articles. Not only are the tips for how to accomplish tasks that procrastinators struggle with, but there are also levels of engagement so that cronic procrastinators don't have to feel guilty when we do not achieve perfection. Another benefit of the articles is the timeliness. For example, the holiday planning article appears in October. It reminds me to think about holidays and add items to my to do list before I run out of time. The key is using it and I found it to be small and flexible enough to tuck into a work notebook or my purse. It helped me so much, I even ordered my 2009 copy a month and a half before the year ends.
Like any good procrastinator...
...I used the 2008 planner (which I received as a gag-gift) for the first few weeks of the year, lost it, and then remembered it in October. I absolutely love the side articles that remind me about important things like taxes, remembering to clean out my refrigerator, and of course buying the 2009 calendar. These are things I can't remember to do on my own, or just never find motivation to do. I would recommend buying this for the procrastinator you love as a gentle reminder that they might be able to learn to plan ahead sometimes; it's also great knowing that they won't buy this (or any) planner for themselves.
A great, fun, planner!
I've been using basic planners for the past 6 years or so, and this year I decided to spice it up once I came across the Procrastinator's SOS planner. I am a HUGE procrastinator (why I'm writing this a while after I got the item while I'm supposed to be working) and I definitely appreciate the humor of this planner! It has a lot of funny bits of information, some of which are just amusing, and some of which are actually really helpful! I love the options to list things I need to do and to check off the smiley face when I complete it, or the frowny face when I don't (a week later of course). And I love the categories in the to-do lists: Gotta Do This Week, Should Have Done Long Ago, If Not Now... Whenever, Trying to Delegate, Holding Out For Pressure, and Hoping It Goes Away. I showed the planner to another friend and she loved it too! I'd buy her one, but that'd be too much effort.
