Customer Reviews
A good read for the novice ghost hunter.
I very much enjoyed reading this book but was very disappointed in the poor quality of the black and white photo's. It was next to impossible to see any anomolies because of the streaky, blurred images. Other than that, the book itself is well made with an easy to read print. Brian's writing style made me feel like we were chatting over a cup of coffee at the local haunted cafe. He kept my interest peaked with each new story and I had a hard time putting it down once I got into the thick of it. I also enjoyed the addition of the paranormal terms and their meanings.
Cold Spots in Minnesota?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brian Leffler's new book, Ghosts: Minnesota's Other Natural Resource. For over ten years Leffler has been investigating haunted locations throughout Minnesota along with his fellow researchers, the Northern Minnesota Paranormal Investigators. In this book, Leffler gives the reader the benefit of his experience as he tracks down ghosts in such diverse locations as Lakeview Cemetery, the Union Depot in Duluth, the U.S.S. William A. Irwin iron ore ship, and even a house in Grand Marais haunted by the ghost of Barry Cowsill of The Cowsills fame (who would have thought?).
The book is written in an easy to read style, even when Leffler writes about the mechanics of carrying out a paranormal investigation. The reader learns how to do it, but is not bored by too much technical information. Loaded with many photos taken by Leffler and other N.M.P.I. members, this book is a must for any armchair ghosthunter, especially those of us who think that Minnesota is just too damned cold to visit in person!
