Best practices for all teachers5
Easy to read with many bulleted points, this book is helpful to first-year teachers as well as those who have been teaching for longer. I find that every now and then I need to look at something new to re-energize myself for better planning and more effective teaching. This book does that. It offers best practices in behavior management, time management, lesson planning, effective teaching, and assessment. It also contains helpful lists of professional organizations, professional journals, computer software sources, and instructional materials suppliers. While other authors spend so much time focusing on procedures, this author gives you helpful procedural information but focuses on explaining how you can build relationships with students and make learning an active endeavor. He even encourages you to smile while you're doing it.

Second Edition5
This guide is a comprehensive and user-friendly reference filled with practical strategies and tips for solving the everyday problems you face while organizing and managing a classroom. It's designed so that you can pick and choose from among the smorgasbord of ideas to find exactly what you need for your unique classroom situation.

This second edition specifically addresses the changes that have occurred in education since the first edition was published: the standards-based, high-stakes testing environment, the role of the Internet in learning, the increase on the time demands of teachers, and the call for greater teacher accountability.

It's great for both beginning and experienced teachers.

A repertoire of great ideas for the new or experienced teach5
I would recomend this to any other teacher who can read. I am a new teacher myself and need some help here and there (oh there I go humoring myself again, I need help all the time)and this book sugests how to handel everyday problems and many other necessary things!! I love the part labeled "coping with the Daily Stresses of Teaching" and it also tells information like getting parents involed which can be terribly hard to get going!! It has many good reproducibles that can be used anytime!!! I also just can't get over how well the spiral-bound book is so easy to tote! I again would recomend this to any teacher that can read!!!!!!! To sum it is I feel I don't need to say more than "Great Book"!!
