Eyewitness Garden Handbooks: Pruning and Training5
The Eyewitness Garden Handbooks: Pruning and Training was such a tremendous help to me in developing the beautiful garden I had always wanted. It was able to walk me through the difficult process of espalier techniques that had always been so difficult to grasp from the other books I had read for this involved procedure. The beautiful pictures and easy to understand language made this a book I will use year after year! I would recommend it to everyone!

Not so good.2
Didn't find this book very helpful. It's my first pruning book and I hope others are better. It was more of an overview than a 'how to, when to' guide. Even the specific plants it mentions only get a few sentences each.

would be good IF it were larger illustrations - book is too small3
If you are ordering this book, then you want it because of the information in the illustrations. This is a gardening book, and you need to see where to prune, and how to make the cuts, and so on. Usually the books in the Eyewitness series speak for themselves: they usually have clear and colorful, well marked illustrations, and the typeface is clearly laid out. These illustrations look nice, but the book has been miniaturized to half the size that it should be. i would need a magnifying glass to see where the small red pruning marks are, and what to cut and what not to cut. The text is quite tiny. The book simply needs to be larger to be more useful. This is a reference book, not a novel. it is approximately 5" x 7".
