Product Description

This revision retains the same general format contained in the previous editions. The chemicals and pesticides regulations have been updated; major taxonomic changes have been made in the bacteria, fungi, nematodes and viruses; the changing picture in diseases caused by viruses and/or virus-like agents have been described. New host plants have been added, and many recently reported diseases as well as previously known diseases listed now on new hosts have been included. This book should be useful to gardeners, botanical gardens, landscape architects, florists, nurserymen, seed and fungicide dealers, pesticide applicators, arborists, cooperative extension agents and specialists, plant pathologists, diagnostic laboratories and consultants. This book should also be a useful reference book for plant pathology classrooms and in some cases used as a textbook.

Editorial Reviews

Review
`The book should be useful to plant pathologists, disease consultants, laboratories involved in diagnosis, however it could be an excellent guide for gardeners, florists, nurserymen and naturalists. The book should also be a valuable source of information for teachers and students of plant pathology, agriculture, botany and life sciences. Finally I can say that authors and publishers are to be commended for an excellent piece of work.'
Plant Protection Science, 38:1 (2002)
`This book is indispensable to practicing protectors. Is also excellent as a supplement to academic textbooks on phytopathology. I recommend this Handbook of its simplicity of material presentation.'
Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, 24:4 (2002)
`This exhaustive and comprehensive Handbook is a must have for the academic reference supporting a plant science program. Its longevity is proof of its effectiveness for the practitioner.'
Science Bulletin, 48/4 (2002)
