I followed the instructions and made a beautiful mural!4
I have no artistic training. Carefully following the instructions in this book, I was able to create an African savanna scene on the wall of my son's room, complete with acacia trees, life-size zebras, and elephants. It took a little practice (which I did on a closet wall where no one would see my mistakes). The projection stenciling technique is perfect for anyone wanting to create some great-looking mural-sized art. I do recommend buying a projector, as this makes it very easy to transfer the pictures in the book to your wall. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is because I found that the author's recommendation to use freezer paper with stenciling adhesive was very messy, difficult, and left adhesive on my wall that was difficult to remove. After some experimentation, I discovered that I could use white shelf paper (I used Henkel self-stick easy liner) for the projection stenciling technique, and it works perfectly, involves no mess or fumes, and peels cleanly from the wall when finished. All in all, a great book with some really nice project ideas.

An eye-pleasing, imagination-engaging work of art5
A unique and very highly recommended addition to any family, art department, or community library Art Instruction reference collection, Projection Art For Kids: Murals & Painting Projects For Kids Of All Ages by self-described "talent-free" artist Linda Buckingham is a compendium of twenty-one projects ranging from small-scale designs to full-scale wall murals that kids aged 10 and older can make on the wall of a nursery, daycare, classroom, or bedroom. Buckingham's projection technique will enable children to utilize a favorite photograph, slide, drawing, painting, clip art, cartoon, or logo in the creation of a memorable and eye-pleasing, imagination-engaging work of art.

This is a great book!5
In one week, I did two projects utilizing the projection art portion of this book. We did the "Oh no! My room is a mess!" on my daughter's door per her request, and I created some fun stuff for my pantry door. It's fairly simple once you know what/how to do it. The hardest part was getting the ink pens! (I finally found them at the 2nd Michaels that I called!)
I will be doing quite a bit more projection art mural projects in the future. My kiddos have been trying to decide what pictures to use on their walls. It should be fun, no matter what they choose!
