Original...His...evocation of older poetries transcends expectations about what we are obliged to term linguistically innovative poetry. -- Jacket Magazine
There's...a sense of antiquarian exploration...but also a poetic exploration of almost Olsonian breadth. Stimulating stuff, all round. -- Shearsman Magazine

Even better than Of Piscator
I was a sucker for the strange, incantatory, lush soundplay in Of Piscator and I think Complete Travels is even better. Corless-Smith can be a sort of Sea and Cake of millennial poetry--you can let the poems wash over you in a deep fascinating pastoral pleasance. Or you can toughly encounter them--they're lovely, but difficult, and they reward close reading. Check out "The Garden" for an astounding meditation on the way humans inhabit and simultaneously build their world. The line between art and reality shimmers and dissolves as I read.
