This is another excellent bilingual product by Osmosis. Children generally love animals and it is interesting to them to learn and practice the names in both English and Spanish. The book kept our children s attention and so we congratulate the publisher.

The book is fun, visually appealing and the moving tabs are very sturdy. The kids loved the vivid illustrations and were eager to learn the new words.

When I introduced the book and the author during our circle time, the children were excited. The book gave them the opportunity to interact and be an animal of their choice using body language and making various sounds. It was nice for them to be learning while having so much fun. --iParenting Media Award

Aimed at parents who want their children to master a second language right from the start, these two chunky board books are set up for success. The simple images, drawn with black outline and filled in with bright primary and secondary colors, stand out on the white background, occupying the top 4/5 of each page. At the bottom, the English and Spanish words are spelled out next to each other in a large, clear font. The computer-generated images illustrate objects and people that toddlers begin to identify as they acquire language. house-casa feature common words such as door, table, chair, boy, girl, and cat; market-mercado shows colorful fruits and vegetables, like grapes, tomato, and lettuce. The sturdy construction will withstand small teeth and gooey hands, and the basic design will captivate the very young. Intelligently thought-out, these books are attractive enough to stand alongside such perennials as Tomie DePaola s Marcos series (Putnam, 2003). This is a sound addition to public library collections, school ELL, and language immersion programs, and a smart choice for bookstores. --Criticas Magazine
