Product Description

The Scarecrow is set in the small backwater town of Whiterock, Virginia. Every year, for as long as anyone can remember, a somewhat gruesome tradition has taken place. During the week of Halloween, the children compete to see who can build the most frightening scarecrow. Jack O’keefe is a five-time winner, and in his final year of competition, he is anxious to build his scariest creation yet. While looking for the perfect mask, Jack and his younger brother Timmy discover that Lee Thomas has one in his store that he claims is evil. In response to their questions, Mr. Thomas tells the boys of the mask’s role in his brother’s death. Jack, however, refuses to be deterred and becomes obsessed with the mask. When he breaks into the drugstore, he unleashes a series of horrific events that terrorize his hometown. Will you survive The Scarecrow? Come in. Be scared.

Deliciously Horrifying5
I found this book a refreshing piece. The world is full of writers that can't seem to come up with an original idea in their heads. This was definitely something new and deliciously horrifying. Mr. Kelly indeed keeps us on the edge of our seats with this fast paced tale of bloodshed and mayhem. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and will re-read it over and over. Once I get over the nightmares that is.

Thumbs up. Can't wait to read the next one.

This one is worth the price of admission.5
This is an excellent book from a first time author. I found it to be a real page turner. It has everything you could ask for from the horror fiction genre: Plenty of suspense, blood and gore.
Here, with the author's permission, is an excerpt:
Jack wanted to run, but his muscles tightened up to a stiffness the consistancy of cured concrete. His lips were moving, but no sounds could be made. He stared in wide-eyed, mouth-gapping horror as the leaf filled monster threw away the cleaver, bent at the waist, straining the safty pins holding it together, and picked up the scythe. The scarecrow stood up and raised the scythe high into the air. In a circular motion, and with great precision, the monster swung with all it's might.

I Couldn't Put This Book Down!!5
James G. Kelly is a great horror fiction author - he kept my on the edge of my seat for the entire story. His discriptive style really brings the story to life, and puts him in a league with Stephen King. I'm looking foward to his next book!
