Product Description

By means of convincing arguments bolstered by facts and sheer logic, interspersed with a good deal of tongue-in-cheek humor, the author exposes the lies, the logical inconsistencies, the contradictions, the errors, and the brainwashing tactics in The Da Vinci Code.

Not content to leave it at that, he also vindicates the deity of Christ in a manner that is thought-provoking and uniquely different.

Combining an insightful understanding of the Bible with symbolism that is both novel and fascinating; De Souza uses details associated with the feasts of Hanukkah and Tabernacles, along with relevant Scripture passages to show why the celebration of Christmas on December 25; the day when the pagan world celebrated Sol Invictus, actually has beautiful symbolic significance linking it to Christ - The Light Of The World.

Likewise, he shows why the accounts of Christ's death, 3-day entombment, and resurrection on Sunday; rather than having been copied from pagan myths of dying and rising gods, are vindicated by clues that can be found in the Old Testament, beginning with very first Book of the Bible, as well as in symbolism associated with the feasts of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits; thereby assuring Christians who attend Church services on Sundays that it is indeed the Lord's Day was intended to be the Lord's Day, from before the foundation of the world.

He provides compelling arguments to show why the Christian practice of God-eating, as Dan the Pagan Fan refers to it; rather than being a mere imitation of pagan rituals, points to a great spiritual truth that has been ingeniously incorporated into the design of the natural world, including that of our own bodies.

Educated Christians5
It is wonderful to see how De Souza does not mince words when it comes to exposing and shredding Brown's `impeccably researched' mumbo-jumbo as he calls it.
His book should help lay to rest Brown's crackpot claim that educated Christians `who truly understand their faiths, understand the stories (about Christ) are metaphorical.'
This book is very different from all the others in its genre.
Not only does the author employ a style that is delightfully unique, by asking Robert Langdon, and Sir Leigh Teabing questions about the things they have said and then using their `responses' to make his point; he possesses a quick sense of humor and an astute power of observation that has enabled him to detect errors, discrepancies, contradictions, and brainwashing tactics in The Da Vinci Code that others--to my knowledge haven't; and then used historical facts coupled with sound logic to demolish Brown's house of cards.
I especially love the way he draws upon little known details from the Old Testament, and then uses analogies and symbolism not only to disprove Brown's lie that `nothing in Christianity is original', but to vindicate the deity of Christ in a manner that that is unique and fascinating, and should warm the hearts of Christians everywhere.
Even though the book contains plenty of material of a serious nature that incorporates some of the best apologetics I have yet en-countered, De Souza uses plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor to take jabs at Brown's glaring errors, contradictions, pseudo-arguments, and `evidences', thus making it an easy read.

A Masterpiece5
This book is most entertaining reading due to the humor coupled with the extremely informative and educational dialogue. The author has accomplished an incredible amount of research in his efforts to provide the Reader well documented and factual information (unlike the Da Vinci Code). I was so entertained that I had difficulty setting it aside; hence it did not take long to read the 330 or so pages. There is such a wealth of information contained in the book that I will read it again and again from time to time. The style which the Author embraced to refute the many lies and inaccuracies was clever and as a result it was not boring for a single minute. In summary, it is a great testimony of faith.

A Thorough Thrashing Indeed5
Mr. De Souza s book is appropriately titled as he gives Dan Brown s popular tome a thorough thrashing indeed. With humor, wit and finely honed sarcasm, Mr. De Souza not only takes Dan Brown s historical inaccuracies, conjectures and flat out lies to task, he also points out plot inconsistencies and implausibilities in the story line.

Mr. De Souza s book is a handy reference; packed full of real historical data that I found not only educational, but enlightening as well. Mr. De Souza traces early Christian festivals and traditions back to their Jewish roots and shows how in tune with astronomical cycles they were.

Mr. De Souza also effectively addresses the idea of pre-Christs in other religions and non-canonical gospels that according to Brown have been suppressed by the church. And, Mr. De Souza answers Brown s fictions regarding the sacred feminine, and the early Christians treatment and regard for women.

This is a densely packed work. Mr. De Souza s style keeps the reader engaged - and rewarded. Hidden between rebuttals and refutations are gems of insight, such as Mr. De Souza s thoughts on the real date of Christ s conception and birth.

I hope Mr. De Souza sees fit to author more books and further develop some of the ideas and topics he touched on in this book. Until then, this book will give me plenty to go on. This book s a keeper.
