Just as Creative Interior Design (LJ 10/1/94) did, these two books provide the amateur interior decorator with tricks of the design trade. Among its many features, Color Schemes offers advice on how to use pattern samples, an explanation of the color wheel, a description of the importance of color tone, and a checklist of personal needs to consider. Bedroom Decorating gives easy-to-follow instructions accompanied by line drawings for making various soft furnishings, such as pillows and bedspreads. A beginning chapter on fabric and equipment for the projects might have been helpful here rather than plunging right in with projects. However, both books, with their multitude of photographs and clear, concise directions, have an exuberance and clarity that will inspire do-it-yourselfers. Watch for more books to come in this series.

Easy to follow instructions with excellent illustrations.
I have been reading how to books about home decorating for the last twenty year. This book, which focuses itself on creative bedroom decorating has very easy to read illustrations and the most of the diagrams are shown in 3-D.

As the book is originally written in England, there are curtain and valance styles I have never found in any other publication, let alone from the well-known pattern companies in North America.

Where terms are used that are uncommon to us in North America, the publishers have given us their equivalent identity. This not only broadens the sewers/decorators knowledge base, but it helps us when reading decorating books from England and Europe.

It provides information on canopies and and bed coronets, which are just coming in to their own in North America.

A definite 'must have' for any home sewer or decorator.

Creative Bedroom Decorating
This is the best book that I ever had. It really shows step by step on how to make your bedspreads, bed skirts, curtains, cushions, canopies and lots more.

This book is a must to have because it is giving you a lot of decorative ideas for your home.

Jam Packed With Ideas!
Great book! I got the book to get ideas for something specific and this book has given me lots of great ideas for other things that I can do. While I am pretty good at sewing, this book is NOT for the novice seamstress. You have to have at least a basic knowledge of sewing and of pattern cutting and matching in order to work with the projects in this book. I have already completed a couple of the projects and they look wonderful.
