Not Your Grandma's Gardening Book
Don't let the cover of this book fool you. This book isn't limited to garden-center annuals, but rather provides comprehensive, professional advice about every plant, shrub, and lawn malady you're likely to encounter. But what makes this book a must-read gem is how the author brings you into a festive world of pest-and disease-management, where the less glamourous aspects of gardening take on the excitement of an Arthurian Quest for the Glory of Home and Planet. Yeh's engaging and witty prose alone make it a worthwhile resource for all gardeners. Highly recommended.
The Yeh Effect Will Save Your Garden!
At first I wasn't sure if I would like "Can My Petunia Be Saved?" by Tamson Yeh because it looked like it might be another dry selection of pictures and descriptions that would leave me hopelessly confused. Imagine my delight when I found out on the first page that this was actually a book designed to use as you toured your garden with not only a description of the problem in easy to understand language, but also the reason behind it, and a solution! As I read more and more I began to see my garden as a whole and realized that there were some very fundamental things that I had been doing wrong, which when corrected would help my whole garden. Yeh's prosaic words and goofy sense of humor helped me to make sense of my newly purchased property and I am sure next year will be my best gardening year yet!
five cheers for Petunia
This may be a lighthearted romp, but make no mistake, Yeh knows her stuff. I thought I knew mine, too, but I learned new things on nearly every page. Yeh tells you how to prevent pest problems in the first place by keeping plants healthy and happy. Outstanding.
