FERN MARSHALL BRADLEY, BARBARA W. ELLIS, and ELLEN PHILLIPS are all former managing editors of Rodale Garden Books. The three coauthored the 1992 edition of this title, in addition to having written numerous books and articles individually. Very helpful book5
I am new to the organic lifestyle and am growing our first organic garden. I think this book is very useful and full of good information. I recommend it for beginners.

Not comprehensive enough2
I should have known better since this is an "Encyclopedia," but I gave it a chance anyway and found that it wasn't comprehensive enough for me. I'm still a beginner at gardening (3rd year having my own garden) and I wanted to learn more about organic gardening, the hunt continues.

disappointing1

Both the TOC (table of contents) function and the organization of the book is very problematic, the content is quite trivial -- far from encyclopedic, the overall user experience is maddeningly glacial.
