Editorial Reviews

Review
This graphic novel set is fun, fast paced series geared toward the elementary reader. The colorful illustrations help move the story along and keep the reader amused by the characters actions. In Archies Amazing Game, when Archie is told not to play soccer he rounds up his siblings to support him, and despite these antics, his mother allows him to play. Mels father is kidnapped in Joker and Mel foils a bank robbers plan and saves his father from harm. All Albert wants is to spend some time with his busy parents in Aargh! Its and Alien. After a visit from a few aliens, his parents spend less time at work and more time with their son. In both Arf books, Arf and the Greedy Grabber and Arf and the Three Dogs, Arf tends to get himself in to trouble, but in the end saves the day from a purse snatcher and a dishonest politician. Each book contains a picture introduction for each character in the story as well as writing prompts, discussion questions, and information to link each title to facthound.com with low reading levels and easy to follow stories, these books are wonderful age appropriate stories.
