About the Author
Douglas Vermeeren has taught the gospel as a full-time missionary in Belgium, a Seminary teacher, a gospel doctrine instructor, and a gospel principles instructor. Doug has also taught English classes in China. While in China he developed a program for Chinese university teachers that helped them to be more effective instructors of English. He was also selected as the first foreign teacher to speak at a teacher's day conference for Chinese political and educational leaders for the province of Shanxi. Doug was a featured speaker at Ricks College's (now BYUI) Issues and Interactions symposium (speaking on the Garden of Gethsemane) and was Ricks College's first student Academic lecturer speaking on the Book of Abraham. Doug loves to teach and talk about the gospel, especially early Church history. He has a strong testimony of the gospel and of the Saviour Jesus Christ. Doug and his wife, Holly, live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with their three children, Julienne, Jordan and Jared.
