Interviewing for a job isn't rocket science but even a rocket scientist can learn something from this book. 4
Interviewing for a job isn't rocket science but even a rocket scientist can learn something from this book. It may be to your advantage to turn the tables on your interviewer and get something for yourself out of the interview.
The Most Important Questions to Ask on Your Next Interview presents a different and useful way to approach your next job interview. Most people prepare for an interview by re-reviewing their resume and trying to guess what questions they will be asked and practicing responses to those questions. Kendall Blair proposes some important additional steps.
In most interviews you will have an opportunity to ask questions also. The questions you ask may be as important as the questions that are asked of you. Kendall explains how you can use questions to help steer the interview into areas that you are strongest and to help avoid areas where you are weak. She proposes questions that will help you determine if this company, and more importantly, this specific job is really right for you. This book points out that even if a company may be willing to hire you, that doesn't mean that you would enjoy working there.
The book discusses the type of preparation that you need to do prior to going into the interview. It points out some of the things that you should know about the company and the job that will help you stand out in the mind of the interviewer.
Many of the questions that you read about in the book are very logical but very few people going into an interview have the forethought preparation and poise to plan and ask the questions. The book is based on interviews with real hiring agency personnel and company leaders and gives insight into their thoughts.
I would recommend this book to anyone that is planning to look for a new job in the near future.

Roger Yocom - Rocket Scientist

Complete interview prep book4
In a tough job market, everyone is concerned about networking, job leads and getting that phone interview nailed with HR that will lead to in person interview with the hiring manager. Many job applicants overlook the fact that they must properly prepare for the interview. That includes not only knowing about the prospective employer and skills one can apply to the job with that new employer but also what questions to ask once the interview process is ready to wrap up.

This book offers 200 various questions candidates should consider asking during the job interview process. They apply for jobs when a candidate is external or internal candidate. It helps determine if the job, company and hiring maanger are the right fit for all parties involved in the process. I liked the fact that book is easy to read and one can prepare 1-2 days before the interview to ask the right questions. It is these quesitons that can separate you as a candidate against the pack of other candidates you are competing against for the same job.

Can help in this economic tough time...4
Kenall Blair easily explains how to overcome anxiety during a job interview with the book, "The Most Important Questions to ask on Your Next Job Interview--Insider Secrets you need to Know" offering plenty of good advice for job seekers.

The author cleverly dissects the entire interviewing process while educating the reader on what to expect from a potential employer. I like the idea of Blair including 10 case studies with experts in the hiring process.

Most people understand the concept of answering questions from employers, however, Blair lays out the importance of asking your own questions so you know exactly where you stand if you were offered a position within the company.

This is a great reference book to keep as a "just in case" guide. A lot of empowereing questions from A-Z fill the pages from front to cover. It is an excellent source to you if you ever need to search for another job.
