'Tis the good reader that makes the good book. "Ralph Waldo Emerson" If you've ever sat up into the small hours to find out whodunnit, whiled away an afternoon with a romance, or ignored a ringing phone (or missed your bus stop) to stay in the world of your latest novel., you're lucky enough to have lost yourself in a book. For many, reading is a constant pleasure in an uncertain and stressful world. Celebrate books and reading, and record your book group's discoveries, in Book Notes Journal. There's lots of space for your Reading Notes --so you can look back and see what you loved (or maybe hated) this time last year, or compare what you thought of an author's last novel with his or her latest --plus pages to note down Recommended Reads (and who suggested them). Favourite Quotes, Books Borrowed and Lent (so you can share your treasured volumes with confidence) and space for useful resources (libraries, book group members, and bookstores). Along the way, stimulating words from famous writers will give you pause for thought as you fill it in. *the perfect gift for any bookworm or book group member *a great keepsake and record of your reading life *beautifully illustrated, with wisdom and wit from writers ancient and modern to inspire you *a handsome volume with tabbed sections for ease of use, cloth binding, and elastic closure band *never lose track of a book, favourite quote, or recommendation again

Customer Reviews
for the bibliophile
A friend of mine owns one of these. It's basically a nicely designed and organized notebook/journal to record lists of books read, books you'd like to read, books loaned, comments about, and quotes from, books you've read. If you've ever started a list of books you'd like to read and then forgotten where you put the list, this could be useful.
I plan to order one of these.
Useless
If you want something to write down the millions of books you want, this is for you. Don't buy it if you want a journal to remind you of the books you already own/read.
A Good Journal for Tracking Books Read
I've been keeping a book journal since 1970. I like this particular journal a lot.
It is divided up into several very useful sections: Recommended Reads, Reading
Notes, Favorite Quotes and Books Borrowed and Lent.
I use the Recommended Reads section to write down books I want to read, ones
that I've read about in book reviews or books that my friends have told me about.
The Reading Notes section is where I write my impressions and reviews of the
books I have read. I don't use the Quotes section. Instead, I've expanded the
Reading Notes section to take over the Quotes. The Books Borrowed and Lent
comes in very handy, especially the lent books. I'm very good at returning
books but not everyone is. I often find that I loan a book out and when I go
to look for it and find it missing, I forget who I lent it to. Having a place to
keep track of where my books are helps to keep my library intact.
I recommend this journal for anyone wanting to keep a book journal. I
find the practice very rewarding.
