About the Author
Michel Roux began his culinary career at age 14. He has been the chef and proprietor of several restaurants including The Waterside Inn in Bray, England, where he has held a coveted 3 Michelin stars for 18 years. Master sauce-maker, Michel Roux is an expert on the topic of sauces. His books are an essential reference in every cook’s kitchen.
Michel has countless culinary awards. As well as holding the "Millennium Chef Hall of Fame" award from the National Restaurant Association (1999), the Meilleur Ouvrier de France en Pâtisserie (1976), the Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite (1987), and the rare Lifetime Achievement Award by Hotel and Caterer Magazine, he has an OBE (2002), a five-star diamond award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (2004), and was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award (2004).
