Review
"Splendid recipes, some dating back to the 1100s, with magnificent photography." -- Jennifer Paterson
"There are over 150 recipes...and they are wonderful. " -- FOOD AND WINE MAGAZINE
From the Publisher
Inspired by the family meals cooked by his mother and grandmother, Alvaro Maccioni presents recipes that capture all the goodness and robust flavors of real Tuscan country cooking. Typical of the savory dishes are "Agnello in Salsa"--lamb flavored with garlic, parsley, red chilies, and rosemary, simmered with white wine and tomatoes--and "Pasta d'Estate"--a pasta salad with pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, "dolcelatte," and baby spinach. Alvaro's memories of Italy are woven throughout the book, evoking a vivid picture of Tuscan country life.
About the Author
Alvaro Maccioni has run La Famiglia restaurant since 1975. James Murphy is a renowned food photographer whose work has appeared in such publications as Marie Claire and Good Housekeeping, as well as several cooking books.
Customer Reviews
wonderful recipes
As a customer from US, I often think of London and the wonderful food we always get at la famiglia, I was delighted when I was there last week and found Alvaro had written a book containing many of our favorite recipes. can't wait to start trying them at home.. The book is as dlightful as Alvaro himself, no wonder he has been so sucessful for the last 30 years.
