Customer Reviews
A well-priced pictorial overview of recent transport design.
Broken down into 4 chapters, (Air, Rail, Road and Shipping), this book takes the reader through a pictorial collection of some of the more significant transport architecture of the last 10-15 years.
Covering some of the classics (notably Stanstead Airport, Bilbao Metro and the Renault Distribution Centre all by Foster & Partners) and more recent works (many by Kisho Kurokawa) as well as some Australian projects, around 2-5 pages of full-colour photography is dedicated to each - some with architectural drawings, models or 3D rendered views.
A sensible alternative to some of the more costly & specific transport books, this is a well produced colour coffee-table bible of recent precedents from airport terminals to bus shelters which will inform or inspire! Don't expect any critique so if you're seeking theoretical debtate this one is not for you, but a brief blurb about each practice is featured towards the end.
Printed on heavy paper with quality feel.
