The celebrated underground smash that is Cinema Sewer the magazine has been transformed and mutated into CINEMA SEWER: THE BOOK - and following the runaway success of the first volume, we're delighted to be unleashing VOLUME TWO onto a now slightly-less-unsuspecting world! A mind-melting compilation of gonzo writing, illustration and comics about the most insane, sexy, awkward, cheesy, hilarious, upsetting and jaw-dropping movies in the history of film, Cinema Sewer joyously celebrates the sleaziest aspects of the moviegoing experience, whilst delving deep into bizarre cinematic history. Author and comic artist Robin Bougie takes a dive to the bottom of the cesspool of sexploitation, doing so in a distinctive manner that has made him famous amongst a loyal following of cult film fans. If anything, Cinema Sewer acts as Robin's handmade journal, preserving the DIY 'zine aesthetic and carrying it kicking and screaming into the future via articles packed with bizarre trivia and personal insights about the movies your mama always warned you about. Issues 13 to 17 of this celebrated underground smash magazine are exhaustively revised and collated in this second wild volume, together with an additional 90 pages of never-before-seen interviews, rants, comics, hard-to-find classic movie advertising, and graphic illustrations by Bougie and a host of his talented friends from both the comic book and animation industry. Regardless of whether the reader is just discovering the world of classic porn, horror, and exploitation movies, or if they're a long time fan from the days when the drive-ins and grindhouses reigned, they'll find plenty to get excited about, gleefully sloshing around in the filth of the Cinema Sewer!

Editorial Reviews
Review
"Prepare to veer wildly between curiosity, arousal, disgust, laughter, disbelief, embarrassment, confusion and uncontrollable glee. Such is the power of Cinema Sewer." --The Nerve Magazine
About the Author
In 1997, underground comic artist and zine publisher Robin Bougie began Cinema Sewer magazine, an ode to the seamier side of film and the culture which surrounds it. Bougie used his geek knowledge, his artistic skills as comic book artist, and connections in the world of porn to give birth to this unseemly but loveable publication. The magazine quickly found an audience amongst film fans looking for something totally different. Bougie contributes liner notes for dvd releases for companies such as Something Weird Video and has self-published over 70 comic books since he was 18.

Another Trip Into The World Of Twisted Movies!
I wrote a review for Cinema Sewer Volume One and how I came to buy the book from FAB press. Since enjoying that first volume so much I was happy and excited to see that a Volume Two has been published.
I purchased this second edition in London and although I have yet to finish it, I feel compelled to write about it.
Robin Bougie has a great gift for expressing himself. He is funny, rude and intelligent. These books are perfect toilet-side companions and more often than not make you laugh out-loud.
The reason why I find these books essential reference for all the sick and twisted movies out there, is that Robin Bougie's graphic descriptions allow me the "pleasure" of experiencing the films without having to watch them. I have absolutely no tolerance when it comes to extremely perverted sex, scatological antics or twisted violence. Yet I am aware and informed of them by Bougie doing all the "work" for me.
This, apart from Bougie undeniable and infectious humour, is Cinema Sewer's most important attribute. Cinema Sewer is a filter by which I can be informed of the depravity of human behavior caught on film yet not be permanently scarred by actually having to watch it.
Cinema Sewer Vol 2 publishes a rather strange reaction by a reader, shocked and upset at one of Bougie's reviews about an extreme and perverted porno. It must be said that the review in question is unflinching and graphic but I am sure, far less taxing than having to sit through the real movie itself. The reader is upset and has fallen into the trap of assuming that the participant is being abused. Without having seen the porno in question, the reader chastises Bougie for promoting filth and abuse.
In fact Bougie is an equalist. He firmly believes that woman are no less victims than men. Porn does exploit human emotion, so when a woman is seen to be abused, some believe she is actually being abused. Where as a man receiving equal treatment would simply be deemed a sicko pervert. I am sure Bougie, as with any free thinking and intelligent person would not promote non-consentual antics on film. That is not his bag. Bougie is first and foremost a cineaste as both volumes of Cinema Sewer prove.

so awesome!
sometimes it's like Robin is my other self... the one who can expertly draw naked chicks and weird dudes jerking off.
yes, everything from Teenage Twins to The Hillside Strangler is reviewed in Cinema Sewer Volume 2. if you loved # 1, then do yourself a favor and buy this second volume. funny, as well as, transcendentally poignant when discussing 42nd street theaters in 70's New York, vintage porn personalities, film critics, social commentators, and the disturbing visual entertainment that weird sleaze junkies like us need to know about.
my only possible gripe so far is that i can't remember a single mention of H.P. Lovecraft or his influence on some of the media which Cinema Sewer has reviewed.
can't wait for Volume 3!
Venger As'Nas Satanis
Cult of Cthulhu High Priest
Unique!
Very unique book written for the trash cinephile. Yes, it's dirty and irrelevant. but it's also a ton of fun! I enjoyed the author's research and found many of the articles in the "one of a kind" mode. Great read!
