About the Author
Laurie Goldman grew up in New York City. She's been in love with the ocean for as long as she can remember. For many years she was part of a research team at the Provincetown, Massachusetts Center for Coastal Studies studying endangered Atlantic whales. She holds a master's degree in science and environmental journalism from New York University and has written for Popular Science magazine, Scholastic's Science World, and The Old Farmer's Almanac for Kids. Laurie loves old movies and tap dancing. Laurie lives on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where she shares her passion for the sea with her husband Liam and their children, Sander and Thea.
