Product Description

The dreaded Orks, monstrous green skinned goliaths of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, take center stage in this collection of the four issue mini-series from Warhammer 40,000 novelist Dan Abnett, and multiple Eisner Award nominee, Ian Edginton! The Orks are the most warlike race in the blood-soaked galaxy of the 41st millennium - cruel, crude and brutally barbaric - their unflinching passion for violence is so unquenchable, Ork clans spend as much time warring with each other as they do their enemies! Yet, once in a generation, a leader will emerge, mighty enough to lay waste to his rivals and unite the clans, unleashing armies millions strong upon mankind! Destiny beckons, and it is from the ranks of the Blood Axe clan that the call will be answered... This collection includes Warhammer 40,000 comics previously released as special edition promotional comics; Death from Above, The Visitors and Mettle.

WAAAGH!5
Colonel Izraell of the imperial guard is the sole survivor after a devastating ork attack. Covered in filth and grime after falling down an exposed sewage pipe, he is mistaken for a "Lanky Grot" by one of the head orks, Nob Skyva, who keeps him as a good luck charm. Seeing his survival as divine intervention, The colonel remains with his captors, sabotaging there actions in anyway possible, which, unintentionally, have positive effects on Skyva's rank in the ork warband.

. 40k publications are very violent and this book is no exception, but it stands apart from the often grim portrayals of the 40k universe with its underlying theme of black comedy. The orks have always been a slightly comedic race compared to the other factions, and it shines in this book, from the planet Demaris Taertiary to the Hive world of Armageddon (Most 40k Players will know what I'm talking about) I highly recommend this to any reader of graphic novels.

the ending features several short stories, one of which features Brother Gerhart from the previous 40k comic
"Damnation Crusade".

I liked it better the second time through 'cause ov thu wa tha Orks be talkn'. It also has two short stories at the end about space marines. A good look into the mind of the orks, funny and gory!

Warhammer 40,000: Blood & Thunder2
This is a graphic novel. Read this after opening my order from Amazon took me about 45 minutes to go through it. Did not think the story was very good. The pictures where not really full of life and where kind of blah.
