Amazon.com Review
With this combo kit, DeWalt has assembled an impressive set of cordless power tools perfectly suited for the seasoned pro but with definite appeal for the hardcore do-it-yourselfer. The DW5KITV3 combo kit features DeWalt's popular line of 18-volt cordless tools and accessories, including a heavy-duty, three-speed clutch drill/driver/hammer drill; a sturdy reciprocating saw with keyless blade clamp; a 6-1/2-inch circular saw; a jig saw; and a flexible floodlight, along with accessories suited for each. The drill/driver/hammer drill boasts a DeWalt-built high-torque motor (450 in./lbs. of maximum torque) for drilling bigger holes and driving bigger screws. This unit also features a unique three-speed transmission that produces a greater range of rpm for noticeably faster drilling and driving applications. When hammer-drilling into masonry, the maximum speed setting drills holes up to 33 percent faster, at a top speed of 34,000 beats per minute. The DW938 reciprocating saw features a keyless lever-action blade change and packs the power to handle the toughest demolition jobs. You'll especially appreciate the tool's cordless feature when working in confined spaces. The DW939 6-1/2-inch saw is equally powerful, with a left-side blade for easy right-handed visibility. The DW933 jig saw's counterbalance makes it a pleasure to use, while the four-position orbital action lets you dial in the blade speed that best matches each application. The DW919 floodlight lights up a work site's nooks and crannies, and features a flexible neck you can use to wrap it around a stud or rafter. These tools are being sold as an all-in-one set at a price significantly lower than the sum of each tool priced individually. It's a top-of-the-line set--an opportunity for professionals to upgrade and for serious do-it-yourselfers to quickly build an excellent cordless tool collection. --Carl Thress

From the Manufacturer
DEWALT DW5KITV3 18 Volt XRP 1/2-Inch Drill/Driver/Hammerdrill, Reciprocating Saw, Circular Saw, Jig Saw, Flexible Floodlight and Vehicle Charger Kit

From the Manufacturer
The DW5KITV3 combo kit includes a drill/driver/hammerdrill, circular saw with blade and rip fence, reciprocating saw with blade, jig saw, flexible floodlight, one-hour charger, vehicle charger, three XR+ batteries, screwdriver bit, and carrying case. The DW988 18-volt, 1/2-inch adjustable-clutch drill/driver/hammerdrill uses a DeWalt-built high-torque motor to deliver 450 in./lbs. of torque for drilling bigger holes and driving bigger screws. Besides boosting torque, DeWalt is the first company to add a three-speed transmission that produces more rpm for faster drilling and driving applications. Low speed (first gear) and high speed (second gear) are similar to other cordless drills currently available. However, the new MAX third speed is 38 percent faster, with a range of 0 to 2,000 rpm. The MAX third speed is noticeably faster for wood and metal screwdriving and drilling, and especially for hammerdrilling into masonry, where the MAX speed drills holes up to 33 percent faster, due to 0 to 34,000 bpm. The DW988 features a 1/2-inch ratcheting chuck lock with carbide jaws to keep a tighter grip on the bit. The ratcheting chuck lock consists of two elements: an automatic spindle lock that allows users to tighten down on the chuck twice as hard, and ratcheting action to prevent the chuck sleeve from loosening during the job. The DW938 reciprocating saw cuts 50 2-by-4s on one charge. It takes just seconds to change the blade thanks to the innovative keyless lever action blade change. The DW939 6-1/2-inch circular saw has the power to cut up to 145 2-by-4s on one charge. It has a left side blade for visibility, 50-degree bevel, and includes a rip fence. The DW933 jig saw cuts at 0 to 2,000 spm and has a four-position orbital action for increased speed, while its counter-balance provides smooth operation and reduces user fatigue. The DW919 floodlight has a flexible neck, which allows the user to point the beam in any direction. Eliminate downtime with the added vehicle charger and third battery.

Convenience to do it all...4
I am huge DeWalt fan and their 18v cordless line is the main reason why. I own every 18v cordless tool they make (except the new laser level -- next buy). The 18v line is great for moderate duty work. I have had to keep my corded drill and recip saw around for really heavy duty jobs (drilling flitch plates and sawing cast iron), but those are the only two things the DeWalt would not tackle. Battery life is great especially if you care for the batteries (see Fine Homebuilding magazine October issue for battery care). The drill's hand tightened chuck is a plus and it's hammer feature goes through concrete easily. I really love the recip saw -- loads of power for just about anything and very useful if you have limited access for a cord. Most of all, the cordless jig saw is really accurate and stable. Of all the items, the circ saw tends to be the least well powered.

If I were buying again today, I would look hard at the 24v line simply because it is the best they make today. When I bought, the 18v line was tops. But for the money, the DeWalt 18v or 24v lines will not disappoint if you remember they are cordless tools and can't do everything.

The ultimate tool kit..5
I have been looking for an affordable but durable tool kit for a while, and this was well worth the money. The tools are made to work hard and definately help you get any job done right the first time. My first project used every single tool in the kit, and what a pleasure it is to swap tools/batteries in an instant. The round saw cut through 2x8's like butter, and the jigsaw made precision cuts for all of my trim work. The Drill is the best tool in the kit, because of the versatility in speed settings and high RPM which allowed me to drill right into concrete over and over again.
I highly recommend this kit to anyone looking for a great all-in-one package, and rest asure this kit will last for years...

I love it, so does my husband5
We have a few acres and a few animals. Anyone with this combination knows it means something is always needing to be repaired, altered or built. These are great! They are stronger than you think and so handy they spoil you. We can't throw away all the electric power tools (yet) but they don't get out nearly as much as they use too. We have had good luck with Dewalt in the past and we have family and friends that do construction for a living. They live by their Dewalt's!
