Amazon.com Review
For tea, instant coffee, or hot chocolate, this cordless, 1,500-watt electric kettle brings 6.3 cups (1.5 liters) of water to the boil in minutes. The kettle is made entirely of rugged plastic, with a translucent blue body and white accents for a thoroughly contemporary look. To provide 360-degree access, the kettle fits onto the power base in any position and swivels for easy liftoff. With an indicator light showing when the kettle is heating, an on/off switch integrated into the handle, and water-level indicators on both sides, it suits left-handers and right-handers equally. The handle is insulated to stay cool and textured for a secure grip. For safety, the kettle shuts off automatically when water boils or the kettle runs dry. A removable, washable filter captures loose pieces of scale. The kettle stands 11 inches high on its power base, and the heating element is completely covered for easy cleaning. The kettle carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Speedy, stylish kettle4
This is a great little kettle. It only takes about a minute to boil a litre of water, and the handle stays nice and cool (although the body of the kettle does heat up). The entire blue plastic body of the kettle is translucent so although it is not completely transparent, you can see the water level all the way around the body of the pot, which I actually like better than have just a small window to look through. It is much easier to tell at a glance how much water is in there.
The flip up lid is nice in that you don't have to take it off to fill up the kettle, but I did find that the opening is a tiny bit too small to comfortably get my hand inside to clean it. The interior design of the kettle is also a bit awkward to reach all the surface bits to clean, but since it is just used for water, cleaning the inside shouldn't be a huge issue.
All in all, it is an efficient, sturdy kettle, and much more stylish than many of the others on the market.

Cute but taste of plastic in water2
I bought this for my mom after viewing it on Amazon together, thinking that it is a trusted name brand (Black and Decker)and it looked really cute, and had a great review. But, after using it, realized that it wasn't as good as we thought. The plastic looked cheaper than some other brands, which verified why there was a plastic smell and taste in the water (this would be my main concern in purchasing an electric kettle). My mom didn't want to deal with all the trouble of returning it. She's hoping that the taste and smell of plastic would eventually go away (which I doubt). I would recommend a similar style (in white) from [brand name] that I currently own. It is great! Buy the right one the first time around, instead of regreting it afterwards.

A Must Buy for College kids5
My freshmen year, I lived in an apartment and one of my roommates had a coffeemaker. Well I'd put a teabag in the coffee part and voila, I'd have tea. This year, I have my own dorm room and was suddenly faced with "how will I make my tea?" I found this at Target, I was instantly in love, and it was cheap.

The pitcher doesn't hold much water (only about 2 quarts), but it's the same size as the pitchers in my fridge so it doesn't matter to me. This thing is QUICK though! Extremely fast. I'd say less than 5 minutes to boil 2 quarts of cold water. I use it almost everyday for tea, water for oatmeal, soups, etc. It's just wonderful. The base doesn't get hot because of the design of the pitche. The base of the pitcher is what heats it up, from what I understand, and there's a hole in the base that goes onto a knob on the base that sits on the counter. So, the actual base that sits on the counter never gets hot, and the handle for the pitcher makes for very comfortable handling even when it's filled with boiling water. Also, it has a safety feature so that it automatically shuts off when it's done boiling so that it won't boil over. It has a little window on the side so you can see how full it is when you're filling it up (just make sure you don't overfill it). I've had my pitcher for six months now and it's still like new. Very very sturdy... The only drawback I could even possibly foresee is how do you clean it if it got dirty? I'm not sure... you could probably wipe it clean. But, it's only for water, so as long as you don't put anything else into it, you wont have a need to clean it.
