Amazon.com Product Description
The Malco TurboShear convert your power drill to a power shears. To operate this time-saving tool, simply insert the TurboShear directly into any 3/8-inch chuck of a standard 1,200 RPM A/C or cordless drill. This rugged but inexpressive accessory cuts straight and to the left. It makes fast cuts in sheet metal and is capable of navigating tight curved patterns and squares in heavy 20-gauge galvanized steel. Blind cuts require only a 1/2-inch starting hole. Cutting applications include both ferrous and non-ferrous sheet metals, metal roofing/building panels, vinyl, steel mesh, duct work, even the thick metal of furnace jackets, equipment enclosures or automotive body panels. An offset design keeps both hands away from work surface. The long-wearing hardened jaws are also replaceable.

Customer Reviews

OK3
I purchased this to cut templates about the size of a dinner mat out of the sides of 18-wheeler trailers (1/8" aluminum). Given the other reviews cutting steel, I was expecting good things. However, my experience was mixed.

I found it could cut the aluminum quickly but only at one magical angle and with significant forward force applied. It was challenging to find/maintain the magic angle and supply sufficient forward force while standing on a ladder.

I noticed that air-powered shears have two cutting blades. With two blades, the torque applied to each edge of the cut is balanced. These single blade shears often left the edges stressed with waves and bending.

My 15.4V Panasonic drill worked but 18V might have been better.

All in all, it is very affordable and better than hand shears. I don't regret owning it, but it has limitations.

Won't cut 5V Crimp3
I bought this for cutting 5V crimp roofing. It does great on flat panels but can't make it over the crimps. Oh well.

Great shear, don't let the low price stop you.5
I've had this shear for two years. It really works well, especially at what I consider to be a VERY low price.
