In 1932 they pioneered the production of stainless steel flatware, functioning as the factory of choice for many flatware companies. In 1980, Yamazaki introduced their own line of 18/8 carefully designed stainless steel flatware under the Yamazaki brand.

Best serving spoon ever!
I've been looking for a long time for a nice, flat serving spoon and was delighted to find this gem! I've used smaller, deep serving spoons in the past but when you're serving casseroles and other dishes that require a "heaping" serving, this spoon can't be beat! The spoon is nice and wide, and more importantly, nice and flat. If anything, it resembles and ice cream paddle but is "dressier" and more appropriate for the dinner table. A+++++++ on this one.
