Pros:
1) Very durable - they handle all sorts of abuse in our household including getting banged into the faucet while being washed.
2) The ability to mix and match the corresponding patterns is nice. If I get tired of a particular design, I can simply change it.
3) These dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe.
4) The patterns are very versatile and are perfect for both everyday use and for formal occasions. This is great for households with limited storage - instead of two sets of dishes (one everyday, one formal), you only need one set and just switch around your table accessories.
Cons:
1) This isn't really a "con" per se, but a warning: These are microwave safe, but be careful! We microwaved something one time and I guess we set the time for two long, because when the food became superheated it literally cracked the plate it was on. When we took the plate back to the store, we were advised that nothing is entirely "microwave safe" and you just have to be careful. Just thought you should know...

Overall, I would highly recommend any Villeroy & Boch set, based on our very positive experience with our set. ENJOY!
