master of Americana folk art
Known as "America's best known living folk artist", Warren Kimble's images grace everything from furniture to dinnerware, making him a multi-million dollar industry, all stemming from his life in Vermont, where he works on his inventive and charming work, which he has devoted himself to full time since 1983.
This beautiful print of "House with Flag" is a wonderful example of his appealing style, which though it follows a traditional folk art type of design, has the unique character of his work stamped all over it.
Whether doing his overstuffed, marvelous animals, or the simplicity of his rural landscapes with structures, Kimble often uses antique wood as his canvas, and the grain of the wood becomes a part of the texture of the piece. Whatever Kimble chooses to paint touches our hearts with his distinctively American work, that speaks of a tranquility of days gone by.
