Product Description
The Rose is one of the oldest flowers known to man and has a long and colorful history. According to historians, the rose is over 35 million years old and has been a symbol of love, beauty, war and politics throughout time. Roses have the ability to express any emotion and are, in essence, the perfect gift. The Red Rose Paperweight has taken this timeless flower and captured its emotion in crystal. With its delicate petal design and slight hint of color it creates an illusion of splashes of red throughout the piece. This Red Rose Paperweight is sculpted in clear crystal and a red color is bonded to the bottom so the color shines through at different angles. The paperweight stands 3" high and is a perfect gift for many occasions.

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com Review
Waterford introduced this limited edition crystal rose paperweight in the spring of 2005. Signed by the glass artist/designer, Tom Brennen, the rose is hand-crafted of full-lead crystal which gives the piece not only the renowned Waterford clarity and brilliance, but a substantial sense of weight for its three-by-three-inch size. The petals unfurl with a graceful fluidity, and a special red base bonded to the rose creates a vibrant ruby glow at different angles.
A perfect Mother's Day present or simply a token of love, this rose-shaped paperweight adds radiance to a desk or dresser. Like all fine crystal, the rose paperweight can be washed by hand if need be, although an occasional dusting or wiping with a soft cloth will keep the crystal shining. This highly collectible piece comes handsomely packaged in a Waterford gift box. --Ann Bieri

Customer Reviews
Lovely Crystal. So-so Packaging.
I also bought this as a gift for my mom. The crystal looks fine and is as Amazon described (5-star). The packaging on the otherhand fell short for something this price (2.5-star). The crystal was wrapped in one layer of thin tissue and stuffed (super-tightly) inside a faded navy cardboard box - i.e. didn't look protective enough for a crystal and far from looking like a gift box. In fact, it reminded me of the type of tissue and packaging you'd get from a shoe box. I've bought Swavorski crystals as gifts in the past, but decided to try Waterford this time. Swavorski crystals come in ultra-padded, hard cardboard tube-boxes that actually look nice enough to give as a gift. I was expecting the Waterford packaging to be comparable to the Swavorski in sturdiness and attractiveness, but that didn't turn out to be the case.
Wonderful Gift for Mom
I bought this beauty for my Mom for Christmas. As is states in the above descriptions, it is truly a work of art. She loved it. It now resides in the curio cabinet and tops on the brag list. Buy one, you will not be disappointed.
