Customer Reviews
Hodgson Mill Couscous
I was disappointed in this product. I much prefer the taste of Near East couscous, however it wasn't offered on amazon when I placed my order.
pretty good
personnally i think the whole wheat couscous can be a bit heavy at times, but this is still quite good and better for you than non-whole wheat couscous.
extremely nutritious
I don't get the bad reviews, surely you knew what you were buying. If you don't want multigrain, don't get this.
I for one love this product. I can't buy it at my normally store. For pasta I usually get Barilla Plus pasta which is multigrain, high in fiber, with 10 (count them 10) grams of protein per serving. But locally I can only get a few pasta types in Barilla Plus. All the couscous varieties are made with standard semolina flour.
So I get this from Amazon. My nutrition philsophy is to not worry so much about counting calories, and instead worry about making sure each calorie has nutritional value. Normal non-multigrain pasta has 0 nurtitional value. Pasta products like this though have it in spades, and there is no guilt in eating a pasta meal like this.
I don't eat this product plain though. I cook it with zucchini, chicken, stewed tomatoes, and onion. And I use chicken broth instead of water for the liquid, and lots of oregano. It is a good 1 skillet dinner.
But ya, great product if you care about eating healthy, want to put on muscle and need protein, or want more fiber in your diet, or all three.
