Customer Reviews

Telesteps 10s - not 6', but a great design4
The Amazon picture shown of this ladder is not the correct image. The picture shown, with pull rings to collapse the ladder at the bottom is of an extension ladder, not a step ladder.

The ladder is actually 4-1/2' to the apex, where the rungs go back down the other side. I contacted the US importer of Telestep ladders to get more information and here is what I found:

1. The additional two "rungs" at the top of the ladder are in place so you can stand on the top rung (apex) of the ladder. Said the rep: "No one would pay this much money for a 4-1/2' ladder with a warning label not to stand above the 3' mark. So Telesteps added the extra two rungs so the full 4-1/2' could be used" There are actually 5 rungs to the apex of the 10s ladder +2 to allow full use.
2. European ladder standards are different than US standards. So the little strap that holds the ladder in its "A" shape as shown on the manufacturer's website is not allowed on US models. US models have an actual aluminum hinge on each side (like a traditional step ladder) to keep the ladder from opening more than it should.
3. The European models shown on the manufacturers website, telesteps dot com are not available in the US.
4. The top two rungs do not have to be extended to use the ladder. So if you are worried the ladder might be too tall with the additional two steps extended, worry not. This also means that you can straddle the ladder with one foot on one side, and the other foot on the other side.

I sent the 10s back, and purchased the 12s. My wife will use it in performing home appraisals. She needs her head above a 10' attic opening. The 12s will work great for that. These ladders collapse nicely and are easy to carry. Perhaps a little heavy for a woman, but much easier to store and maneuver than a full 6' stepladder. I hope this helps future buyers of this style ladder.

shorter than specified2
This ladder is only 4 1/2 ft. as a step ladder(A-frame) and it's 6 1/2 ft. high as an extension ladder. It claims to be a 6 1/2 ft. A-frame and 10 ft. extension ladder but it is not.

Bringing it down is difficult because lowering each side independently is not functionally easy for a few reasons.

I sent it back and ordered an extend & climb for less money, extends a foot higher, has a clip-on
hand-tote/carrier and is easier to bring up and down.
