have to give a disclaimer: did not purchase on amazon...we chose hh gregg. but amazon reviews are what everyone reads, so i figured i'd post here.

this is a gorgeous fridge. while it was in our home (we had it a week), everyone commented on it. we went with the actual stainless vs. titanium because we were warned the titanuim, when scratched, peels off and is irreparable.

anyway, the fridge never cooled. things froze on the freezer side (but we are not sure of the actual temp...our thermometer doesn't go that low). i noticed funny smells in the fridge and used our instant read thermometer to check the temp (it has a probe that you can stick inside while a digital read stays outside). it was only getting to the high 40's while set at 37 (37 is what it came set at...the instructions say don't mess with the temp for 3 days). we lowered the setting after the 3 day wait, with iffy results, and finally set it to the lowest setting you are able to (32 degrees) and the inside temp ranged from 37 (rarely) to 44 (mostly) even after the door was closed for hours. 44 degrees is not cold enough for milk freshness for me, so i called lg. they assured me that their models all have a 10 degree range from the set temp (!!), but gave me a number for local service. when i called, and explained the situation, i asked the service people, "does a 10 degree range sound right?? we can still return it, and are not sure if we should even stick with lg as a brand" they said (and remember, this is the LG recommended person!), "whirlpool". we returned the frige (hh gregg has a 10 day return policy, thank goodness)and bought a diff brand.

It is a great refrigerator5
I had bought a Kenmore refrigerator and it had all kinds of problems (water leaking and ruined my wooden new home kitchen floor). I had this refrigerator little over a year and I never had any problems.
Pro: If you leave the door open, it beeps every 30 second which can be annoying, but at least it's telling me close the door. The outside appearance is pretty (stainless steel) and inside has pretty decent size.
Con: Changing the water filter can get difficult, but all refrigerator's water filter is usually in the back (at least all mine were).
It's reliable appliance.

After searching and researching, I am very happy with this fridge.5
Note: I bought the black one, but I know most people prefer stainless steel, so I thought I would post this review for both fridges.

We are very happy with our fridge. It is huge on the inside, and very bright, and the shelves are sturdy and there is plenty of room to organize the fridge the way you like. The freezer is nice and roomy and the only thing I do not like are the 2 wire baskets at the bottom. I have a hard time pulling them out since items peek through the wire mesh and get caught with the items in the basket underneath or on top.

But the nicest feature is the fact that the ice maker is on the SIDE, on the freezer door. The only caveat is that you have to make sure not to place anything on the top shelf to block the connection to the side ice maker, but there is plenty of space on the top shelf, so it is not too big of a problem. According to manufacturer's specs, there is no more cubic feet in this model than the older one that had the ice maker inside the freezer (The model LG LSC27910SB and this one both have 10.24 cubic feet of space). However, I prefer have shelf space rather than a side drawer space. Plus, the pull-out ice bin on the side is really nifty and compact, and slides easily in. It is clear plastic so you can see how much ice is in it.

I also really like the tall dispenser. At first, I thought it was gimmicky until I had company and had to fill 2 pitchers of water several times through the evening. No tilting and trying to fit the pitcher under a short dispenser! It really is a nice feature. And if you have a fragile pitcher, there is a water button that you can use instead of pushing against the dispenser.

Finally, the digital display looks really cool. The numbers and symbols are this pretty blue color (not red, which would have been horrible), and after you get used to pressing the buttons to change the settings and not the display (for some reason, we kept doing this when trying to change the ice setting from crush to cube or vice versa), it is very handy. Aside from the forementioned button for Ice Type, there are buttons for setting the temps of your refrigerator (40 degrees for us-- at 38 degrees the juice froze) and freezer (0 degrees), a button for "Ice Plus", a feature that revs up the ice machine and makes more ice cubes faster (but don't forget to turn it off when you have enough ice!), and a button to change lock the display and deal with the alarm (an alarm can go off after 30 seconds to warn you you have left the door open). Also, the display of the temperatures is not the actual temperature of the fridge or freezer, which would have been really cool, but the settings.

The water dispenser requires a filter that the manufacturer recommends be replaced every 6 months, and they have a display with a monthly digital countdown for that! We have not decided whether we will replace it every 6 months, and if we do not, there is supposed to be a way to reset this timer so it won't bother you if you don't.

We bought the black one, and we love it. The handles are longer than the older model and look very sleek. The only odd thing about the black is that the doors are smooth black, the but the rest of the fridge is that textured black that fridges usually come in. At first, it drove me crazy, but now I do not notice it.

We are very, very happy with this fridge and would recommend it. We got it from our local big box hardware store (only one of the national stores carry it, the other does not carry LG), and we bought the extended warranty just in case. It was worth the $99 for 4 years of peace.
