Amazon.com Review
You won't let the water run dry when you hear the whistle of this tea kettle. Le Creuset constructs the traditional shape out of lightweight, sturdy steel and coats it with tough enamel. A shiny stainless-steel rim helps protect the edge from chipping and facilitates the lid positioning. The high handle can be locked in an upright position to keep your hand away from the heat, and a lever on the whistling device flips the spout open for pouring. Low and broad, the base allows maximum surface contact for faster boiling. Choose from many bright, modern colors to match or harmonize with your kitchen and other Le Creuset cookware. --Ann Bieri

Worst $50 Kettle Available
Everything about this kettle, save the brilliant colors it is offered in, is a bad idea. It is advertised as a whistling kettle, however the whistling apparatus is a detachable piece that fits into the spout and nearly impossible to remove without scalding yourself once the water is boiling. Also, the enamel on my kettle chipped at the tip of the spout when removing the whistler within the first week of use. I bought this kettle because of the volume, but if you fill it more than half way, the water boils out the spout. I am amazed that we haven't injured ourselves yet, because when you pour boiling water, as it hits the heated spout it spurts out. The only good thing I have to say about this kettle is that it is very attractive, but that doesn't mean much when it doesn't work well. After a month of use, I am in the market for a new kettle.
What a disappointment...
I must agree with everything posted by dldubois. I bought this kettle because I've used and loved Le Creuset's cookware for years, but they've really fallen short on this item. Both my husband and I were burned while trying to remove the whistler from the spout and from boiling water spurting out while pouring. Also, the handle isn't insulated well enough to prevent it from becoming uncomfortably hot, so I needed to use a pot holder when pouring, which was a bit annoying. This kettle only lasted for a few weeks in our house, and then we returned it.
THEY RUST! Big disappointment...
I have probably seen hundreds of tea kettles by now and still love the look of this one the best. Only problem is that they RUST!!! I had mine a few weeks when I noticed the rust spots on the interior. I don't imagine the enamel could have been chipped on the inside of the pot, so it must have happened simply because I leave water in my tea kettle at all times. The directions that come with this kettle say not to do so, but any serious tea drinker like me knows that's unrealistic.
I threw mine out and am very disapointed that something that cost so much money didn't last long at all. I thought Le Creuset was supposed to be really high quality but I'm officially disillusioned thanks to this tea pot.
