Product Description

According to site creator, Kevin Kelly, cool tools really work. "A cool tool can be any book, gadget, software, video, map, hardware, material, or website that is tried and true. I am chiefly interested in stuff that is extraordinary, better than similar products, little-known, and reliably useful for an individual or small group. Items can be old items, or cheap things that you still dote on after years of use. Suggestions for tools much better than what is recommended here are always wanted. Tell me what you love."

Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you're not wirelessly connected. And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle contain full text content and images, and are updated wirelessly throughout the day.

A good blog for DIY people4
This blog serves not as a gadget review site, but rather a Do-it-yourself tool review site.

It has interesting tools reviewed on the blog; such as flashlights, shoe insoles, welding jackets, metal polish, tool kits, etc. I do not think I will maintain my subscription to this blog, since I am not a great fan of DIY tools, but it might be appealing to a lot of people.

The only down side of this blog: Titles of posts are generally not on the same page as the relevant texts. I do ot know if this is something fixable, because readers will choose different text sizes on their Kindles. a practical way to overcome this problem: Choose the article you would like to read from the articles list, rather than pressing the next page button to reach the article you would like to read.

a wide variety of "Cool" stuff - UPDATED5
I had never heard of Cool Tools until I bought my kindle and subscibed to it here. It's a great source of information on all kinds of things: tools (of course), gadgets, clothing, kitchenware, you name it. I really like the variety in the type of things that are covered and have found about some very useful items.

UPDATE (May 09) - About a month ago Cool Tools switched to a new writer/editor, then a couple of weeks later, it appears as though they changed again. It is clear that the blog seems to be in state of flux. Time will tell if they will continue to maintain the high quality of posts they have written in the past.

The other keeper blog so far on Kindle5
So far, Gizmodo and Cool Tools are my very favorite blogs on Kindle. Cool Tools is NOT just for DIY people. There are neat products on there that are not tools, but useful gadgets, clever inventions, and handy devices that people can use. I have already clipped over ten articles off Cool Tools for later due diligence and that's been less than a week. Now, I am handy and I do like a nice tool, but to say that everything in there is tool related is way too limiting. Try the 14 day free trial and I bet you will conclude as I did that Cool Tools deserves the 2 bucks a month to deliver this useful, timely, great scoop to your Kindle on a daily basis. I look forward to seeing what neat thing they will come up with next, and between Gizmodo and Cool Tools, I think I'm getting scoop at the bleeding edge, which is where I like to be!
