It is as it says. I plugged it into my garage opener's light socket and I now have twice the light output!
Great way to brighten things up.
I switched to inexpensive energy efficient bulbs in my basement but they weren't quite bright enough. By adding this adapter I was able to double the brightness. Things are much brighter now and I am still saving energy.
