My favorite CD for children -- fun and informative
As a marine biologist, I wondered what kind of lyrics would surface on the "Slugs at Sea" CD by the Banana Slug String Bang (you've got to love the name!). Like they say in Australia -- they're "Bang on!"

The music is catchy, it gets my kids dancing. My children (ages 6, 8, and 10) also quickly learned the lyrics and they love to sing along. As for the lyrics, this Santa Cruz, CA, based band knows their biology.

There are songs about whales, life in the kelp forest, estuaries, and other great spots.

Performers like Raffi are a hit among the toddler through primary grades (K-3). The Banana Slug String Band can entertain that crowd and carry children along through the rest of the elementary school years or longer.

The CD has outstanding music, lyrics, and messages about nature, why we need it, and why we need to protect it.

5 stars, only because there isn't a higher score possible. Give this CD a try -- you and your children be happy you did!

The Banana Slugs Get a 4 Star Slug
As I listen to them they make learning fun for a child of any age! With their funny songs they leave your children not knowing they're learning something from these songs, but they are. Your children will be dancing along with the music as they learn so much!

Immediately their favorite CD
The first time I played this CD, my three-year-old asked "can I hear that song again?" for several tracks. The next time we got in the car, both boys asked for this CD. The next time we were at the library, my six-year-old found the librarian and asked her to help him find other CDs by this band. If you've got a kid that loves going to the aquarium, they will love the CD. The littlest kids (whether they like aquariums or not) will really enjoy "Butts Up", a song about how ducks eat.
