The wireless motion sensor can be mounted up to 100 ft away from wall switch receiver. The motion sensor features 180 degree motion detection angle up to 70 feet away with selectable sensitivity and light timer of 1 or 5 minutes. The sensor requires two AA batteries that typical last up to one year. When motion is detected, the light controlled by the wall switch will turn on and turn off after motion stops. The wall switch receiver features control of lights up to 300 watts incandescent light and dimming of five light levels on the switch. The Heath Zenith Wireless Command Motion controlled light kit carries a two year warranty.

Customer Reviews

quality and reliability issues3
- I bought at local Home Depot store 2 years back. It worked fine when freshly installed
from box. However, after 6 months, it showed problem of turning off the light. I replaced
with new battery and it didn't help.

Returned unit, mine did not work right.2
I bought two units. I installed one at my neighbor's house, it worked good and the neighbor was happy. The one that I installed at my house did not work right. Sometimes it would detect movement, other times it would not detect the exact same movement at the same distance, area, etc. Just too INCONSISTENT.

Not a reliable product3
The concept is great, the execution is not so good. You replace the indoor wall switch of your outdoor lights with this new wall switch. You mount the outdoor sensor where you please. Presto! Your lights will go on EITHER when you turn them on from inside OR when the sensor outside - wherever you've put it - is triggered. There's no requirement that the sensor be near the lights that it controls. There's no requirement that the sensor be within sight of the switch -- the signal is transmitted by wireless radio, not by infrared (TV remote) light.

So I use it for my outdoor walkway lights. When you approach the house, and the system is working, =all= the outdoor walkway lights go on for you, all the way up to the front door. Not just the one closest to you. And I can also still control them from inside.

And I hooked up a second sensor (you do that with a little twiddling). So =all= the walkway lights go on for you automatically when you leave the house, as well.

Cool.

Problem: they die. Set #1 was dead-on-arrival. Set #2 failed within a month. Set #3 has hung in there, but has now failed too after about four years. Oh well.

So, five stars for the idea, one star for the execution.
