Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Seems to depend upon the cork type and how tight the cork is in the bottle. The newer plastic type corks give it the most trouble. I bought three (two as gifts) and the recipients claim to have had better luck with it than I have had. However, for the price it's worth a try.
