Druggie Fresh!
A contender for 2004 hip-hop album of the year (see also Kanye West and Madvillain). Hard core beats and horror core lyrics are back. Eminem's nemesis, Cage (Weathermen) and Tame One (Artifacts) are a better pairing than Cocoa Brovas. Add production by Def Jux all-stars El-P, RJD2 and Camu Tao and you have an instant classic.
Well worth the Money, sick beats + sick rhymes=Good Hip Hop
When I heard that Cage and Tame One (Two of the more popular underground MC's around) were doing an album together, I have to admit I was slightly excited. However, when I heard it was an album about almost solely doing drugs, mainly Leak (which I wont explain because I dont want the kids to get ideas.), I expected it to be some thrown together half a** cd. It turns out that although it is a single minded album focusing only on drugs, it is intoxicating itself. The beats are simply R A W. Cage has stepped his game up lyrically (again), and Tame One never drops a wack rhyme. So far my favorite line from this album is Tame's on Druggie Fresh: "And If I smoke P.C.P. today/I might body a bitch like I'm O.J." My favorite 3 tracks from this album are Dead,G.O.D. and Stargate. Bottom Line: Rhymes=9(out of 10), Beats=9.5,Subject Matter=8. BUY THIS ALBUM. 4.5 stars.
Awesome!!
one of the best cd's this year. the production is tight. much better than other "major" label releases.
