Read and Speak Hebrew for Adults-CD Rom-- A Critical Review
I bought this cd-rom (which only works on the PC platform) because I wanted to improve on the few Hebrew words I knew.

To be sure, this is NOT the first place one should go to get the best pronunciation for Hebrew. First, the interface leaves a lot to be desired. You click on 1 and the screen takes you to a child-like grid where you have to both scroll, then click on the letter. There's a performance bar at the bottom which displays your progress.
If for some reason you get stuck, there isn't a way to backtrack or skip ahead unless you manually come out and click on another lesson.

That's part of the problem. The advertisement leaves you thinking that you're getting a comprehensive lesson all on one cd. NOT true! One needs to have been have had some exposure as this cd will frustrate you, especially with this mechanical-sounding narrator that constantly repeats "Please find..."-- there isn't an end point here, folks. It's that bad.

If I may offer a suggestion that would make this purchase worth it. There are some "live" tutorials on YouTube by BnaiOrPueblo and becomingjewishorg that have these introductory lessons and it is much easier to follow.

This is a difficult program to follow and it should be regarded as an addendum to lessons you're receiving elsewhere.
