Chamois Nail Buffer4
I use this with Winning Nails buffing cream. I've tried the buffing sticks, squares, blocks, etc., and they do work. However, it takes forever to get the terrific shine you can get with a chamois buffer and cream. I much prefer a chamois buffer. Between the chamois and the handle is a layer of foam about 1/2" thick. The foam will break down over time. I've found I can keep my buffer in good shape longer by not pressing on the nail. Just skim the buffer across. Pressing down wears the foam out. Also, do not put buffing cream on your cuticles. It's not good for the skin. Not only do I find this better than the disposable buffers, it gets my vote for ease of use over nail polish. It's even quicker to buff than to deal with clear nail polish. You can use this on your toenails too. The chamois is held in place with an elastic band. It looks like a ponytail elastic. To replace the chamois, you remove the elastic and the old chamois, put the new chamois in place, then put the elastic back on.

I've read some websites that sell the disposable buffers. They say the old-fashioned chamois buffers aren't good for your nails. Patently untrue. My nails are shiny, clean, and strong. They don't break either.

By the way, I use this once every week or two with the buffing cream I mentioned. A few strokes a day (no cream) in between keeps your nails shining all the time, if you want to do that.
