Terraniac FIRE
My sons both got this toy for Christmas. They love it. It is wild and crazy just like my boys. HOWEVER.....BE CAREFUL!!! We recharged our batteries and replaced them back into the toy. The car sat on our coffee table OFF and after about 10 minutes the vehicle was ON FIRE!!! Luckily I had not yet screwed the battery cover on and was able to remove the battery and throw it in a sink before anyone got seriously hurt. MY 8y/o son got slight burns on his fingers. If this had happened over night while we slept we could have had a house fire. PLEASE REMOVE YOUR BATTERIES WHILE NOT IN USE!!!! Matell has been extremely helpful in this matter and are running extensive investigations into the problem with our toy. They replaced the product but I am leary of these vehicles now. BE Careful.
Terraniac
My 8-year old son is somewhat disappointed. The Terraniac does not operate in snow as it is advertised.
Great fun but two out of three for adverstising promises
This is the best radio controlled car my son has ever had - by a mile. That said, we tried it after Christmas...in the snow...and it was no go. The back wheel just spun itself a nice little crater. A bit disappointing considering it says boldly on the box that it works on land, snow and water. After packing down a very hard path it did run but trying to keep it on the path was a chore.
Needless to say, I'm in no rush to try it in the water now because I don't want to see it fail another promise and sink!
On the driveway it was awesome - steers easily - goes fast, and is very rugged. When the snow melts we'll try it on the grass and I think it should go well there as well.
