Hauntingly Beautiful
If there ever was a String Quartet Tribute that deserved nothing but praise, it would be this. I have never heard an album that captured the true soul of a band like this.
Polyamorous is amazing, the slow verses to the beating and heavy chorus. And the break in the song, just perfect mix of violin's and cellos.
Next to Nothing and Sugarcoat are very good as well, but I don't really know the original songs so I can't say much.
Shallow Bay is amazing. Ever part of the song is captured in this tribute. The Cello dominates the song, keeping it strong and hitting.
Wish I May is almost haunting, just perfect for mood music.
I could keep on and on about every song, but there's no need. This album is amazing and buying it would be very wise.
Believe is just unbelieveable. Buy it and check it out.
Half and half
Not a bad CD. The song selections were decent, covering a number of tracks across all the of different albums Breaking Benjamin has done. Some folks remarked about the studio mastering, and I tend to agree it was editted and produced in a poor way. There could have been much more to the performances that weren't portrayed well.
Good songs, bad studio mastering.
I downloaded this album from Amazon's MP3 store. They would be great songs if the Quartet had gone to a decent recording studio. Certain songs are full of hiss' and clicks and certain notes end way too stiffly (reminds me of nails on chalkboard).
Woulda been worth it otherwise. The songs have a great gothic feel to them. Very dark. But the poor mixing kills the deal.
