Called either the Organ Pipe or Pipe Organ Cactus, Lemaireocereus thurberi grows best in full sun and sandy well-drained soil. This species can grow to more than 20 ft in zones 9 and 10, where it is winter hardy. Outside, it can tolerate 25 degrees F, but should be grown as houseplant where winters are cold.
