You won't let the water run dry when you hear the whistle of this tea kettle. Le Creuset constructs the traditional shape out of lightweight, sturdy steel and coats it with tough enamel. A shiny stainless-steel rim helps protect the edge from chipping and facilitates the lid positioning. A very durable classic, if you follow the care instructions.
I received one of these as a gift when I moved into my first apartment. I chose it because of the reputable name and the look of the kettle. I followed the care instructions - never filled it more than half way, never let water sit in it for more than a few hours - and the inside enamel never rusted or cracked. Unfortunately my old roommate had a kitchen mis-hap and burned the entire side of the kettle, which didn't effect the actual use of it but I didn't like the way it looked so I got rid of it. Now 4 years later I'm back to buy a second one because I loved it so much!

Sturdy, Generous-Sized and Handsome
This kettle is as good as every other Le Creuset product I've ever owned. It is handsome with a simple design and a slightly ombred beige-to-ivory enamel exterior. The kettle itself is large so you can fill it with enough water to make a big pot of tea or a full container of coffee (I use it to boil water for a Chemex coffee maker) without it sputtering and boiling over. The handle doesn't get too hot to touch and the whistle gets your attention without giving you a headache. In other words, this is a splendid teakettle and I'm delighted to have it, especially since it replaced a smaller and cheaper one by Copco that nearly disintegrated in less than 2 months. Like every other Le Creuset product I've owned, this teakettle is sturdy, the enamel exterior is a snap to clean, and I forecast that it will last for years.
