Features of the Auto Suture Multifire Endo Hernia: The Autosuture MULTIFIRE ENDO HERNIA single use loading unit (SULU), for use with the MULTIFIRE ENDO HERNIA 0°, ENDO UNIVERSAL 65° or MULTIFIRE VersaTack single use staplers has application in endoscopic and general surgery procedures for fixation of knitted mesh, in the repair of hernial defects and in other endoscopic and open surgical procedures for approximation of tissue(s). The single use loading unit (SULU), is designed for use with the MULTIFIRE ENDO HERNIA 0°, ENDO UNIVERSAL 65° or MULTIFIRE VersaTack stapler. One staple is placed each time the instrument´s handle is squeezed. The staple legs first penetrate the tissue or mesh and then fully form, thus anchoring or approximating the tissue(s) and mesh. The Staple Fixation Products that include the 4.8 mm cartridge contain 10 staples composed of 0.38 mm x 0.51 mm (0.015" x 0.020") titanium wire. The staple span is approximately 8.5 mm before closure. The length of the staple leg is approximately 4.8 mm before closure and approximately 3 mm when closed, depending on the application and tissue thickness. Titanium Staples: Titanium is acceptable for MRI & NMR procedures up to 3 Tesla.
